A retreat to get Abdullah to retreat?

A retreat to get Abdullah to retreat?
Will Abdullah Badawi -- and his Son-inLaw -- last last till 2010?

The Shah Alam retreat for Umno senior leaders may have plotted some directions for the party to move forward.

According to Malaysian Insider, the battle lines for the top posts are drawn clear: Most supreme council members including Najib Razak supported Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s plan to contest the elections in December and hand over power not long after that.

But... Muhyiddin Yassin and Rais Yatim felt otherwise, Malaysian Insider reports. They wanted Abdullah to step down before December, setting the stage for them to quit the Cabinet and emerge as challengers for the president’s and deputy president’s posts.

BY THE WAY... Besides the succession plan, the Umno supreme council members were said to have discussed the need to win over Chinese and Indian voters, and ways to mitigate rumblings related to the recent 40% hike in petrol prices.
RENTUNGGGGG!!!!
